Why Would Anyone Hire An Apartment Locator?

Your clients are people looking to live in an apartment.

That’s basically everyone!

  • College students

  • People who can't afford to buy houses yet

  • Downsizing adults who want active lifestyles

  • Young professionals graduating college entering the workforce

  • Social working professionals who want easy lifestyles

  • Old people looking for senior housing

  • Small families

Their Problem

Finding apartments is a massive pain in the ass. It takes countless hours of phone calls, pouring over old listings, calling apartments, booking tours, touring buildings that don't have what you're looking for, and hopefully getting something that doesn't suck.

This is even more difficult if you have other shit in your life going on. Moving to a new city. Getting a new job. Dealing with all the random bullshit life throws at you.

Many people just don't have the time or energy for that.

That's where you come in.

Why would clients hire you?

Why would somebody work with you to find an apartment? Can't they just use Google, find, and tour apartments on their own?

The short answer is yes. They can do all of that on their own.

But the long answer is this: People will hire you because you are better than solving their problem than they are at solving it themselves.

This is how all service businesses work.

You can use scissors, but you hire a barber because they cut hair better than you can. You can count and do paperwork, but you hire an accountant because they can file your taxes better than you can. You can read, but you hire lawyers because they can represent you better than you can yourself.

So on and so forth.

The Solution - Apartment Locators

People will hire you, the apartment locator, because you know your shit.

You know the apartments well.

You know which buildings are awesome and which ones suck. You know who has good specials and pricing and whose way overpriced. You know the application process. You know who has flexible pet policies and good management teams.

You know which places have great views, nature access, walkability to bars and coffee shops, the best amenities, dog parks, parking situations, pool parties, etc.

But that's just the beginning.

You know your city well.

This is a huge deal! Many of your clients will be coming from out of town. They don't know shit about where they are moving to.

They need a local who knows the city well to help them out.

You know what's a boring suburb and an active night spot. You know which areas have the best food and parks. You know where the best school districts are. You know which are the bad neighborhoods and which are awesome. You know things people want to know.

Basically, you are their ambassador to the city.

This can be the funnest part of the business - showing people your city. You get to be somebody's personal well-paid ambassador to a city you (hopefully) love.

That's been the case for me. I've taken dozens of clients on neighborhood tours throughout Austin. I'm often the first person somebody meets when they get into town. We'll get tacos, coffee, grab some drinks.

Some of these people have become good friends of mine.

Free!

Here's the kicker. YOU ARE FREE TO WORK WITH! Clients pay you nothing. There is literally no downside to working with you.

Which means you're going to have conversations that go something like this.

You: Hey I'm going to do all this super helpful work for you and you're going to love it

Them: Ok great...soo.....how much is this going to cost me?

You: Nothing! I'm free to work with! I only get paid if I do my job well, and you list me as your referral.

Them: Oh, friggin sweet. This is awesome!

You: Hell yeah it is!

Takeaway

People will hire you because you can solve their problems better than they can, and you're free to work with.

If you do this business the right way, it’s a win-win-win.
