Questions & Answers

Do you need a real estate license to become an apartment locator?

Yes. You need to be a licensed real estate agent in your state.

Can you become an apartment locator anywhere?

Anybody who says you can be an apartment locator anywhere is a fraud. 

Apartment locating only works in cities where there is a large supply of apartments that pay high commission.
Otherwise you're going to waste your time.  

I would only consider apartment locating if you live in the cities mentioned above. 

Can I work remotely/from home as an apartment locator?

Yes. I work from my kitchen counter most days. Some times I go to the co-working space at my local bouldering gym. I never never never work from an office. 

However, some apartment buildings sometimes require you to be present for tours to get paid full commission. 

But even in those cases you can do most of your work from home, and even from other cities if you'd like.
